I have had several emails asking me how I do these buttons, so here is a tutorial.

I'm not real good at doing these but I hope that you can figure it out.

1. File new 200x200 transparent.

2. Fill with your background color or pattern.

3. Add a new layer.

4. Choose the shapes tool, ellipse, stroked, size 5 or your preferred size, and anti-alias checked.

5. Draw your ellipse, selections, select all, float or click the ellipse with the selection tool, and fill with your pattern or with a color.

6. Go to effects, inner bevel, apply using these settings.

7. With the magic wand select the center of the ellipse, go to selections, modify, expand 1 or 2 pixels.

8. Add a new layer and move it beneath the ellipse layer.

9. Fill with your pattern, then inner bevel using the previous bevel or whatever you prefer. I also sometimes fade the inner button pattern using the gamma correction, that way your text will show up better.

10. Turn off the background layer and merge the other layers, visible.

11. Add your drop shadow and now use your magic wand to select the outside of the button, go to selections invert and then crop to selection.

11. You will now have to re-fill with your background pattern on layer 1. Merge layers.

The finished product.
