1 year anniversary

Yesterday was 1 year since I quit smoking, I am actually amazed I did it, and that I don’t even want a cigarette anymore.  I’m so proud of myself.  :)

On the family front, Sunshine had her ultrasound Tues. and it’s one baby and she is a girl.  She is due Dec. 29, maybe she will be a New Year’s baby, although Sunny isn’t usually late having her kids.

We haven’t been doing much lately, it’s too hot, too hot to fish, too hot to go camping.  I’m hoping we get to go up camping in Aug. and Sept.  We are planning to go to Bear Lake on the 9th to celebrate Trevor’s birthday which is the 11.

We are alone now, it’s been nice I like it, I do miss having the kids around sometimes, but as long as I stay busy I’m fine.  We just don’t have anyone to go do things with around here….we always love it when Jody and Jerry come over or we go over there, but we don’t get to do that as often as we’d like  because of the gas prices.

Dad is doing fine, he has to have cataract surgery next month, I think he is pretty nervous about it, but I think he will be amazed how much better he sees.  We try to go see him once or twice a week.

Say a prayer for my cousin’s wife Suzanne, who has breast cancer and is in the hospital recovering from a staph infection in her port, which went into her breastbone, she is doing better but still prayers would be appreciated for her and my Aunt who is starting chemo and radiation treatments the first of August.  Thanks.

Guess that’s all from me today.

Happy 4th of July

Hope everyone has a safe holiday, not many of us are traveling, with the price of gas.  We are staying home, doing the hometown thing, Lions breakfast, parade, doings in the park then the fireworks tonight.  I’m glad it’s on a Friday, so we can go to the fireworks again, Lynn always has to work the next day if it’s earlier in the week, and it’s too late for him to stay up to go see the fireworks.  It’s been really hot the last couple of days, I knew we would go from winter to summer, it’s one of those years.  Didn’t take long for things to dry up.

We are on our own again, Jennifer went back to her husband.  We have been enjoying ourselves, going and doing what we want….it’s kinda nice.  :)

We go fishing almost every weekend, last weekend was a bust for us, the weekend before was my weekend I caught 8 fish total….it was great although everyone else hated me……lol.

Everything is going fine, and remember have a happy 4th.  :)

I know it’s been quite awhile since I posted, I keep promising myself to post every week and then I don’t.  Maybe it’s because there really isn’t a lot going on.

The weather still sucks it hasn’t been nice at all, we have been having lots of rain and cool temps, it’s supposed to only be in the 50’s this weekend and most of next week.  So we don’t get to go camping or fishing, which really sucks because we don’t get much summer anyway, so we have to take advantage of what we do have.

Ashley moved out on the 24th of April, we had a week of being by ourselves, then Jennifer left her husband and moved in with us, she has been looking for work and having no luck, hopefully she finds something soon.

The boys are both working shutdown at one of the plants here, that means they work 7 days  12 hours a day, so Trevor stays here on weekends so his wife can come down and he can see her.  Travis stays at his inlaws in Grace on weekends so he can see his wife and kids.

I’m going to be a Grandma again, Travis and Sunny are expecting, this will be their 4th and last.  She has morning sickness so bad it lasts all day, I feel so bad for her.  She had her first Dr.’s appt. and he said not to be surprised if it’s twins, they will know in a month or so.

I’m still volunteering at the library I love it, keeps me out of trouble.

I found out my cholesterol is high and I’m insulin resistant, so I’m on zocor and metaformin, had my first blood test this last week, so I’ll see how things are going with it Monday.  My mammogram this year was good so instead of every 6 months I get to wait a year, hooray.

Everything else is going ok, the family is doing well, I really miss my kids but lately they seem to be getting here to see us more, so that’s nice.  Anyone have any hints on surviving empty nest syndrome let me know.  :)

Just stuff

I can’t believe I’ve made it 9 months not smoking, I feel so much better about myself and I feel better physically.

Not much else going on, Ashley and Brad are moving out this weekend, I’m sad and also wondering how it will be with just Lynn and I. I’m hoping wonderful.

The weather still sucks, it’s still cold, it snowed a lot yesterday, I’m so tired of the yucky cold weather….
